lyrics

When I was a kid I would write up the strangest Christmas lists as I laid under the christmas tree with my eyes tearing up I was staring at the lights you see. I sang to myself these songs of babbled words a choir would sing along. I imagined that the lights were the ones in the city up in a marquee they looked much too pretty. I wished I was a star. But I grew into a punk who pushed the world I had darling heart but words to kill.

GIve me fear or give me death the Only words on my too short Christmas list. I won't forget none of your names when my words are plastered in the hall of fame. Oh Santa pretty please hear words because ya see I want this for all of the right reasons let's ring in this Christmas season with some fear. oh break my heart or take my breath, give me fear or give me death.

As I grew older I learned the worlds best things are hard and earned. The easy things well they came cheap and they crashed like a high so I stopped smoking simplicity. When you stay up all night and cry walking home from a show that no one came too you just work harder to prove them wrong and you'll call out their names in your first platinum song. I want to be afraid, cause when your knuckles are white and your voice is hoarse you know your Christmas wish wasn't cut too short
